The Global Survivor Network Leadership Council applauds the announcement that Freedom Fund will increase their Survivor Leadership Fund to $10 million USD by 2030.

The Global Survivor Network Leadership Council applauds the announcement that Freedom Fund will increase their Survivor Leadership Fund to $10 million USD by 2030. They aim to fund 300 survivor-led organizations, and we look forward to working together to grow this movement against slavery and violence.

In the communities where the Global Survivor Network is working, we are encouraged. We see the impact that we have when survivors are standing behind the podium or seated at the table. Recently, survivor leaders in the Global Survivor Network have:

Shared our expertise with policymakers, from submitting written testimony to U.S. Congress to speaking at roundtable organized for UK Members of Parliament;

Contributed as trainers and resource people, from participating in trauma-informed care trainings and roundtables for prosecutors and other practitioners in Asia Pacific region, to trainings for media personnel in Kenya;

Protected our communities, from performing street theater depicting trafficking dangers in India, to raising awareness on radio programs in Guatemala and Uganda, to speaking at churches in Ghana, to publishing a book of our stories as survivors in Bolivia.

We look forward to working with survivor leaders across all nations.

We know that when survivors are leading, the hidden issues are seen. When survivors are speaking out in the light, the darkness cannot continue. We know that change is coming, because survivors are leading it.
